We have always worked towards reducing the carbon footprint of not only ourselves, but also our users.
The apps and academy host educational videos on the benefits of inhaler switching to reduce carbon emissions, as well as inhaler recycling. All videos are dynamic and therefore can be added, removed, and adapted with ease as needs determine.
The patient app reduces the carbon emissions generated from unnecessary visits to frontline services by providing a repository of general advice for patients to both avoid exacerbations and manage them if their condition does deteriorate.
Finally, the apps have an inbuilt personalised action plan. This replaces the need for printing a paper version, reducing printing costs for practices and the impact on the environment.
The ICST office is paperless, and hold the majority of our meetings virtually to avoid unnecessary journeys. Where these cannot be avoided we make sure to promote the use of public transport, as we are only a 15 minute walk from the main Cardiff train station.
